The turtle, a symbol in many cultures and civilizations. One of the most ancient creatures, it has a resistance to aging, so it became the symbol of longevity. It’s also a symbol of patience and endurance.

It is present in the ancient Greek coins of the Aegina island, considered by Greeks as representing the feminine power of the waters, becoming the symbol of the goddess Aphrodite.

In the creation story of Native Americans it represents Mother Earth, in Chinese beliefs it is one of the four sacred creatures. In the ancient creation myths of India, it’s the creator of the world that took the form of a turtle.
